My career of choice following high school was Medical Assisting. And since the blood and hands-on contact associated with the clinical side grossed me out, but paperwork and numbers didn’t, I chose administration. I spent 30+ years in the medical field before completely burning out a few years ago. It just wasn’t fun anymore.
I always knew what I didn’t want to do but was never quite able to figure out what I did want to do. And after leaving the medical field an age-old question resurfaced:
What do I want to be when I grow up?
